What is an online longevity consultation?

A longevity consultation is a focused medical assessment of the factors most likely to influence your future health, independence and quality of life. Rather than promising to reverse ageing or presenting a long list of unconnected test results, it asks a more useful question: what can you realistically do now to reduce avoidable risk?

At Proactive Longevity, your consultation takes place securely online with Dr Nikhil Sharma, a UK Consultant Physician. The conversation brings together your medical history, family history, lifestyle, existing results and personal priorities, then translates the evidence into a written plan you can actually use.

The Longevity 16: a complete view of the factors that matter

Health is not defined by a single blood test, biological-age score or wearable device. The Longevity 16 gives structure to the different factors associated with cardiovascular health, metabolic health, brain health and physical resilience.

Each domain is interpreted in context. A borderline result may matter very little for one person and rather more for someone with a strong family history or several related risk factors. The aim is proportionate action, not the pursuit of perfect numbers.

  • Blood pressure, cholesterol and other atherogenic lipids, including ApoB or Lp(a) where appropriate.
  • Blood glucose, HbA1c, body composition and metabolic risk.
  • Physical activity, muscle strength, cardiorespiratory fitness and everyday movement.
  • Sleep, stress, mood, social connection and purpose.
  • Nutrition, alcohol, smoking or nicotine exposure, heart rhythm and kidney health.

Before your appointment: useful blood tests and blood-pressure readings

Your consultation is usually more valuable when suitable recent blood results and home blood-pressure readings are available beforehand. If you already have relevant NHS or private results, these can often form a useful starting point.

Where information is missing, Dr Sharma will guide you on which measurements are likely to add genuine value. Further tests are not recommended simply because they exist, and any separate testing costs should be clear before you decide to proceed.

What happens during your online assessment?

You begin with a focused questionnaire covering your health, family history, habits and goals. During the online consultation, Dr Sharma reviews the information with you, explains what the evidence does and does not support, and identifies the most important opportunities for your circumstances.

Afterwards, you receive a prioritised personal action plan. Depending on your clinical assessment, that may include practical lifestyle changes, clarification of test results, recommended follow-up measurements, discussion with your GP or prescriptions when clinically indicated.

A longevity doctor focused on decisions, not hype

Dr Sharma has seen first-hand how strokes and other serious illnesses can change a family's life. His approach is rooted in established clinical evidence, thoughtful risk assessment and sensible prevention—not supplement sales, expensive protocols or unsupported promises.

The Longevity Guarantee reflects that practical focus: Dr Sharma will identify at least two evidence-backed opportunities to reduce future health risk, plus at least two personalised quick wins that require near-zero effort, or your consultation fee is returned.

Your questions, answered

Frequently asked questions

How much does an online longevity consultation cost?

The doctor-led online consultation costs £299. It includes your focused assessment, review of suitable available results, the Longevity 16, a written personal plan and prescriptions if clinically indicated. Any separate blood-test costs will be explained before you proceed.

Can I book a longevity doctor anywhere in the UK?

Yes. The consultation takes place online, allowing adults across the UK to discuss their health risks and priorities with Dr Sharma from home.

Do I need private blood tests before my consultation?

Not necessarily. Suitable recent results from your NHS GP or an existing private assessment may already be useful. If further measurements would meaningfully improve the assessment, Dr Sharma will explain what is worth arranging.

Is this a subscription or an ongoing membership?

No. The £299 consultation is a one-off assessment. Reviewing progress later may be useful, but there is no obligation to join an ongoing programme.

Can a longevity doctor prescribe medication?

Prescriptions may be provided if clinically indicated after an appropriate medical assessment. The benefits, possible limitations and alternatives will be discussed before any decision is made.
